Chris Garriott is excited to be the new pastor here at Abbott Memorial Presbyterian Church and to see the glory of the Gospel of grace grow in Highlandtown, Baltimore and beyond! Chris grew up in the Baltimore area and graduated from Randallstown High where he was greatly impacted by the ministry of Young Life and his church youth ministry (Liberty Church PCA). After starting at CCBC he finished his Civil Engineering degree from Geneva College and went on to work for MDOT in Traffiic Engineering.  During this time he began sensing God’s call to go to seminary and study the Bible. This call took him to Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis where he was involved with New City Fellowship the church that taught him about God’s love for the city and Gospel reconciliation.  After Seminary, Chris taught Bible for two years and coached baseball at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis and then was a youth pastor for 8 years at Heritage Pres. Church in Oklahoma City.  Since 2006 Chris has been ministering to students on the campus of the Univ. of Maryland with Reformed Univ. Fellowship, the PCA’s campus ministry.  Chris loves his Ravens, Orioles and Terps and enjoys playing the guitar and writing music.  His other loves are reading history, theology and visiting the National Parks.  In the summer of 2017 Chris released Granite Lore, a country-folk album about his family history and years growing up in Maryland-it’s on all of your music platforms :).

Julius Fischer, Jr. is a Baltimore native, being born in Highlandtown and growing up in nearby Dundalk. As a young teenager, his music interests set him on a divergent path as he both studied bassoon at the Peabody Conservatory Prep and played keyboard in a pop variety band that performed a Kiss tribute show. He earned his B.S. degree in Music Education with a piano major from Towson University and for many years taught piano at the local community college and worked as a freelance musician in the Baltimore/Washington area where he did everything from musical theater to Klezmer. He particularly enjoys encouraging children in their musical endeavors through lessons offered through the Abbott Center for Arts. His wife Angela is the Dean of students at a Classical Christian School, and they have two teenaged daughters whose current interests include volleyball, music, and art.
